Gate Valve
Full Bore Flow & Reliable Isolation for Process Systems
Gate valves utilize a wedge-shaped or parallel-slide gate that moves perpendicular to the flow path, providing full-bore, unrestricted flow when fully open and positive shut-off when closed. This linear motion design makes gate valves ideal for on-off service applications where the valve remains either fully open or fully closed for extended periods. The minimal pressure drop and turbulence in the open position make them preferred choices for mainline isolation.
Available in rising stem and non-rising stem configurations, gate valves are engineered for reliability in critical isolation applications across oil and gas, power generation, water treatment, and general industrial services. The wedge or gate element provides bi-directional sealing capability, while various seat designs accommodate different service conditions including high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive media. Gate valves are not recommended for throttling service due to potential erosion and vibration issues.
