ASTM A312 TP304 Stainless Steel Welded Pipes
ASTM A312 TP304 stainless steel welded pipe, renowned for its excellent corrosion resistance, good formability, and weldability, finds widespread application across various industries including chemical and petrochemical processing for transporting corrosive fluids and gases, food and beverage production where hygiene and cleanability are paramount, pharmaceutical manufacturing requiring high purity, architectural and building components for handrails and structural elements, general industrial piping systems for water, steam, and air, heat exchangers and condensers operating within its temperature limits , and as conduit for electrical wiring, serving as a common choice for cost-effective, corrosion-resistant piping solutions where seamless pipe is not mandated.

TP304 is one of the most common materials used in the ASTMA 312 standard, which sets out the general requirements for Austenitic stainless steel seamless and welded steel tubes. TP304 stainless steel, also known as 18-8 stainless steel (containing 18% chromium and 8% nickel) , is a general-purpose stainless steel widely used for its excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance and good mechanical properties.

The main chemical composition of TP304 stainless steel includes chromium (CR) , nickel (NI) , carbon (c) , silicon (Si) , manganese (MN) and other elements, and the content of chromium and nickel determines the basic characteristics of its stainless steel. Chromium endows the stainless steel with corrosion resistance, while nickel enhances the high temperature resistance and structural stability of the material. In addition, TP304 stainless steel also has good processability and weldability, and is easy to fabricate into pipes of various shapes and sizes.
